My time at Charleston Santa Teresa was filled with warm hospitality. yet there were some notable shortcomings. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive, making the atmosphere welcoming. However, the combination of noise from the restaurant and the mustiness in my room left much to be desired. Overall, it was a mixed experience in a beautiful location.

Rooms
5.0
My room had a musty odor and felt worn out. the uncomfortable bed did not help. The noise from the courtyard filtered in, which made it hard to relax at times.
Service
9.0
The staff were consistently friendly and eager to help, which I truly appreciated. Special thanks to Luisa, who went above and beyond to assist me with my car pickup from the harbor.
Location
10.0
The hotel is perfectly situated near the coast and the historic city walls. making it easy to explore Cartagena on foot.
Dining
7.0
Dining options were refined, yet I found the menu could benefit from more local Colombian dishes. The open courtyard setting was lovely, though it did get quite hot and humid.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel offered decent facilities, like room service and housekeeping, but the gym was underwhelming and lacked proper equipment.

6.6/10

I had a lovely stay at Charleston Santa Teresa Cartagena, where the location was a standout feature, making it easy to explore the old city. The service was generally excellent, with a shout-out to the helpful concierge team who made planning activities a breeze. However, I did encounter some issues with noise and lighting in my room, which slightly detracted from the overall experience.

Rooms
7.0
My room was spacious, featuring a large window with stunning views of Cartagena's wall and the ocean. However, the bathroom setup had a fully vented door, which meant I could hear everything going on inside. Additionally, the lighting in the room could have been better for reading at night.
Service
9.0
The concierge team was incredibly helpful, always ready to assist with planning and making changes. The staff in the restaurant and around the pool area were pleasant and attentive, making my stay enjoyable overall.
Location
10.0
The hotel is perfectly situated near the docks and the beautiful walled city, allowing for easy exploration on foot. Being close to various attractions and dining options was a significant advantage.
Dining
8.0
I enjoyed breakfast in the hotel's atrium, and the room service was decent value for money. The rooftop dining option should not be missed – it offered a customized experience rather than a buffet, which was a highlight of my mornings.
Facilities
8.0
The rooftop pool provided a great place to relax and enjoy the stunning views, though I found it was more of a plunge pool than a swimming pool. The hotel was well-kept, with clean facilities throughout my stay.

5.8/10

I had a mixed experience at Charleston Santa Teresa Cartagena. On one hand, I loved the beautiful colonial architecture and the rooftop pool with stunning views. However, the service was inconsistent, particularly during breakfast, where delays were common and cleanliness could have been better.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, but I noticed some maintenance issues. The king room I stayed in had a cold shower, which was disappointing.
Service
5.0
Service varied greatly. While some staff were friendly and eager to help, others were less attentive, especially in the restaurant where orders were slow.
Location
9.0
The hotel is ideally located in the heart of the old town, making it easy to explore. I found it to be a perfect spot for both relaxation and nightlife.
Dining
7.0
Dining options were good overall, particularly the breakfast buffet. However, it sometimes took too long to receive my coffee or eggs, which was frustrating.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities are impressive with a great rooftop pool and beautiful communal spaces. Yet, some areas like the gym could use more care and maintenance.

6.8/10

During my stay at Charleston Santa Teresa Cartagena, I found the hotel beautifully situated in the heart of the city. the stunning colonial architecture and the rooftop views were definitely the highlights. However, I noticed some shortcomings, particularly with the service and the room conditions, which didn't quite match the high expectations set by the hotel’s reputation. Overall, my experience was mixed.

Rooms
6.0
The Colonial Suite I stayed in was spacious with a nice 20-foot vaulted ceiling, but it had a persistent moldy smell and the air conditioning was quite loud. It would have been much better if they addressed these issues, as comfort is key for a good night's sleep.
Service
5.0
While the concierge service was mostly helpful, I found the overall friendliness of the staff to be lacking, especially in different areas of the hotel. Most interactions felt slow, and it seemed that the staff was overwhelmed at times.
Location
9.0
The location is truly amazing, right at the heart of the walled city. I loved being able to step out and stroll around, with plenty of dining options and shopping nearby. This is definitely one of the best aspects of staying here.
Dining
7.0
I enjoyed the breakfast, especially the fresh fruit and bread rolls. although I was hoping for a bit more variety, like pastries or toasters. Dinner at the hotel was quite pricey for my taste, especially compared to nearby restaurants offering better value.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities were decent, but the gym could definitely use better ventilation. the pool was more of a plunge pool rather than a swimming space, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, the essentials were there, but there’s room for improvement.

I had high hopes for my stay at Charleston Santa Teresa Cartagena, given its well-regarded reputation. My experience was mixed. On one hand, the location in the heart of the old city offered stunning views and easy access to local attractions. However, I encountered issues with the cleanliness of my room and some aspects of service that fell short of a true 5-star experience.

Rooms
5.0
My room was spacious and beautifully decorated, but unfortunately, it had a musty smell that lingered throughout my stay. I expected a better quality for a hotel in this category.
Service
7.0
The service was generally attentive, particularly with the concierge team who helped plan my activities. However, some staff appeared less engaged, which detracted from the overall experience.
Location
10.0
The hotel's location is perfect for exploring the old town. I loved the vibrant setting surrounded by beautiful colonial buildings.
Dining
6.0
Dining options were pleasant but somewhat limited for a hotel of this caliber. Breakfast offered a nice variety, though I missed some finer touches like fresh pastries.
Facilities
6.0
The rooftop terrace was a highlight, providing lovely views. However, I found the pool more like a plunge pool, which was a bit disappointing for swimming.
